The player who received no less than … 14 offers during the offseason!

As with every offseason, some players are more courted than others. This was the case in 2020 when a former Heat received no less than … 14 offers! Not easy to manage.

Good players in the market don’t necessarily run the streets. Are the profiles actively sought? Good defenders and especially those able to plant shots behind the arc. In a league that still leans more towards three-point shooting, it’s even a primary quality to have these days.

So during the last offseason, it was not surprising to see some players being very courted. This is for example the case of Jae Crowder, who had just finished his season with Miami. And given his importance, we already thought he was going to stay in Florida.

An important member in Miami, Crowder was shooting 11.9 points there at 44.5% behind the arc. No doubt, Erik Spoelstra knew how to use it to perfection. And yet, at the opening of the market, the winger made the choice to leave the Heat to reach a new destination. The problem is, he got a lot of offers.

The interested party spoke to the SunSentinel and according to him, he received 14 offers on the table once he became a free agent:

The process was chaotic. 14 teams called. 14 teams gave a contract and I just had to absorb everything at once.

Unlike others, Crowder therefore had no problem finding a destination for 2021. A chance for him because for players, the process is much more complicated today. In the end, the winger chose the Suns for three years.

With 10.8 points and 4.4 rebounds on average, Crowder is an important member in Phoenix. And he intends to play in the playoffs at the end of the regular season.

14 offers on the table? It is far from easy to manage. Hoping Jae Crowder doesn’t regret her choice.
