The NBA G League has released the list of players who have signed a pre-contract to be eligible for the Draft to be held on Monday 11 January at 7pm Italian time.
This year there are 190 candidates to be chosen in a Draft that will however include few selections (probably less than 30) due to factors such as the absence of some teams that have pulled out of the bubble and the fact that the teams at stake have few vacancies on their rosters. Among the former NBA veterans on the list are players like Lance Stephenson, Michael Beasley, Shabazz Muhammad, Mario Chalmers, Quincy Pondexter, Festus Ezeli, Emeka Okafor, Terrence Jones, Marquis Teague e Hollis Thompson. Also present are young people seen in the NBA in the last two seasons, like Allonzo Trier, Jacob Evans, Dzanan Musa, Isaiah Briscoe, Oshae Brissett, Justin Patton e Admiral Schofield. Also of note are some rookies returning from a good career in the NCAA such as Freddie Gillespie (Baylor), Anthony Cowan Jr. (Maryland), Braxton Key (Virginia), Jarron Cumberland (Cincinnati), Chris Clarke (Texas Tech) e Kristian Doolittle (Oklahoma). There is no shortage of well-known faces of European (and Italian) basketball such as Justin Dentmon, Cory Jefferson, Charles Cooke, Jaylen Morris, CJ Williams, Raphiael Putney, Wayne Blackshear e Vander Blue. Under the heading “sons and brothers of art” we find LiAngelo Ball (brother of Lonzo and LaMelo), Brendan Bailey (son of Thurl, ex Cantù and Milan), Tyrell Corbin (son of Tyrone, Orlando Magic assistant coach), Terry Harris (brother of Tobias of the 76ers), Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson (brother of the former Brooklyn Nets, Rondae), Matur Maker (Thon’s brother), Trey Mourning (son of the Hall of Famer Alonzo), Roger Moute to Bidias (brother of former NBA Luc Mbah a Moute), Gary Payton II (son of the Hall of Famer) e Trey Phills (son of the late Bobby, former NBA).
