French motorcyclist Pierre Cherpin is in artificial sleep

According to France TV, Cherpin underwent surgery to reduce the epidural hematoma before going to sleep. He also has broken ribs and injured lungs.
Cherpin starts in Dakar for the fourth time in his career, again in the category without assistance. After the sixth stage, he was in 77th place in the absolute standings, in Original by Motul he was 22nd.

The French racer is the second seriously injured participant in the Dakar Rally this year. After falling in the fourth stage, the Indian motorcyclist MS Santoš is in an artificial sleep in a hospital in Riyadh.
However, according to corsedimoto.com, he was put into a coma for better treatment.
