Tennis.-Spain will have 14 events in its wheelchair tennis calendar

The wheelchair tennis competition calendar to be held in Spain in 2021 will consist of 14 appointments, five international tournaments, seven national tournaments and the Spanish and Autonomous Community Championships.

As reported this Wednesday by the RFET, this year most of the tournaments that had to be canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic are recovered and the activity will begin on April (9-11) in Valencia, a stop prior to the first scoring date for the ITF world circuit that will take place at the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona.

The rest of the international events will be played in Madrid (July 8-11), in the Burgos town of Miranda de Ebro (July 29-August 1), Rivas-Vaciamadrid (September 16-19) and Tenerife (November 25-28). while the other national events will be in Marbella (May 27-30), Logroño (June 17-20), Ferrol (September 3-5), Móstoles (September 9-12), Albacete (September 25-26) and the Championship of Catalonia in Barcelona (15-18 October).

On the other hand, from October 8 to 10, the 19th Spanish MAPFRE Chair Tennis Championship will be held by Autonomous Communities in Pamplona, ​​while the 31st Spanish MAPFRE Chair Tennis Individual and Doubles Championship will be played in December at a venue yet to be confirmed.

“The development of the competition will be subject to the evolution of the health situation in each of the Autonomous Communities throughout the year,” the Spanish federation warned anyway.
