Strasser scored his first World Cup victory in 2017 in a parallel slalom in Stockholm. Today, the 28-year-old skier achieved his first success in the classic race on the piste, although he was only eighth after the first lap. In the end, however, he defeated Feller by one tenth and the third Schwarz by 16 hundredths.
Strasser’s victory was also helped by the mistakes of the winner of the first round and the defender of last year’s championship, the Frenchman Clément Noël, and the second Nora Sebastian Foss-Solevaag, who eventually took seventh and thirteenth place. Overall, the German skier reached the podium for the sixth time – he also has one second and three third places in his account.

Thanks to the second place, Feller moved to the top of the ongoing slalom evaluation, which leads with a gain of 210 points. Today, the tenth Henrik Kristoffersen from Norway dropped to second place with 166 points and Strasser, who has 153 points, improved to third place.
The order at the head of the World Cup, which is now led by Alexis Pinturault, has also changed. The French national team was eighteenth today and with a lead of ten points it got ahead of Alexander Aamodt Kilde from Norway.
