Stephen Curry far too lonely to resist the Suns

Chris Paul (13 points) sets the tone by helping the Suns start the game on a 7-0. Four award-winning shots from Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins (16 points) allow Golden State to pick up the score but Steve Kerr’s men flounder (16-16). They are only 4 of 15 at 2-points and see Phoenix inflict a 17-3 to take the wide (33-19). Curry then limits the breakage. He finds Kent Bazemore alone at 3-point, adds a third long shot, and scores just before the buzzer to halve the gap (36-29).

Stephen Curry holds Golden State at arm’s length

The Suns spoil their good start to the game even more by offering three lay-ups in transition to Golden State during the first three minutes of the second quarter, which takes the opportunity to take the lead on a 10-0 (39-38)! It is again Chris Paul, assisted by Deandre Ayton (12 points, 13 rebounds), who revives Phoenix with an 8-2.

The two teams, however, show a lot of waste with nine lost balls and less than 35% success in this period, and it was the Suns who took the lead at the break (52-47).

Stephen Curry opens the half by scoring his team’s first eight points to bring the Dubs down to -1 but Phoenix responds with an 11-0.

Jae Crowder then leads the way with a 3-point, imitated shortly after by Mikal Bridges and Cameron Johnson before putting a layer back to force Golden State to put a first knee to the ground (67-57).

Phoenix accelerates

With the exception of the double MVP who scores 14 points in the quarter, the rest of the Warriors are 5 of 16 on shots and the Suns take advantage. Author of 13 of his 20 points in the third quarter, Mikal Bridges ends the period with a lay-up to take a 14-point lead (85-71).

Faced with the second Golden State five led by Kelly Oubre Jr, it is Abdel Nader, who arrived from OKC in the transfer that had initially sent Oubre to the Thunder, who kills the last hopes of the Californians.

The Warriors quickly surrender in stride, falling for good under the 3-point missiles of Frank Kaminsky and Abdel Nader (twice).

The inevitable Mikal Bridges then passed the gap to +21 six minutes from the end (104-83) before handing over to Abdel Nader in scoring to manage until the end and allow Phoenix to win 114 -93.

Stephen Curry (27 points) survived but like a Kelly Oubre Jr (4 points, 1/11 on shots), who missed out on his return to Arizona, the Warriors made a poor copy, and They therefore miss the opportunity to win a third game in a row for the first time this season and consolidate their place in the Top 8 in the West.
