Soccer. Case of Covid-19 at ASSE: it’s the hecatomb

ASSE, in particular its professional workforce and staff, is affected by Covid-19 this week.

Every day, and again this Friday, exams are carried out in the Robert-Herbin sports center, in L’Etrat.

Players are subject to a strict protocol.

“Reflections are being carried out”, comments internally, about the conduct to be taken.

Claude Puel and Ryad Boudebouz were to appear this Friday at noon at a press conference to discuss the trip to Strasbourg, scheduled for Sunday at 3 p.m. (21st day of Ligue 1).

The situation could change quickly

Given the lot of uncertainties related to the health context, the appointment was canceled.

This Friday at midday, the Sunday meeting is not called into question. But the situation could quickly change.

“The PCR tests carried out last Tuesday and Thursday revealed numerous positive cases for COVID-19 among the players and members of the staff of the professional group. In accordance with the health regulations in force, the people concerned were isolated ”, indicates the club this Friday afternoon.

Seven players, for the moment, are affected by Covid-19 according to our information. They are part of a list of thirty players provided to the LFP according to the protocol set up at the start of the season. It takes twenty players available to play a Ligue 1 match. According to our information, the staff would be just as hard hit and TL7 even puts forward the figure of eight people affected. ASSE insisted on denying the accuracy of these figures.

“New exams will be carried out this Saturday before the team’s trip to Strasbourg in order to confirm the maintenance of its Ligue 1 Uber Eats match,” says ASSE.
