The Tax Administration Service (SAT) reported that the General Administration of Customs insured 6,127 pairs of sports shoes and 9,600 cell phones in the Customs at the Mexico City International Airport (AICM).
According to information from the SAT, Customs personnel reviewed the documentation to corroborate that the merchandise indicated was correct, derived from this, it was found that the information provided did not coincide with the articles.
“Parts of bearings (pieces of machinery) were declared and footwear and cell phones were found, so the corresponding assurance was made,” said the general administrator of Customs, Horacio Duarte.
The merchandise was made available to the corresponding authorities, in order to integrate the investigation folder.
