Renata Zarazúa is an example to follow for Mexican tennis players: Natalia Fantini

He National Sports Award in the professional category in 2020 was in the hands of Renata zarazúa, who became the first Mexican to participate in the main draw of Roland Garros in the last two decades. This situation is a great motivation for the adolescent Natalia Fantini, who has been playing tennis since the age of 3.

Currently, Natalia Fantini is 14 years old and already 11 years old playing this discipline, which she currently practices in the Junior category. The native of Monterrey, Nuevo León, assures that Zarazúa is an example of inspiration for all national tennis players.

“I know Renata, I have seen her train many times and I am a fan of how he works, of his discipline, he has always been an example to follow for Mexican tennis players and lately I saw her at the Academy of Mérida, she went to train for a week and gave us a talk about how she works, her discipline and her diet, I am a great admirer of her and I hope I can continue on her way and get to where she has come”Fantini said exclusively with The reason.

However, Fantini confesses that the tennis players who inspired her to practice tennis since she was little are the Russian Maria Sharapova and the american Serena Williams.

“I always liked seeing Sharapova and Serena Williams, they are the most top and known and as a child I was always an admirer of them, they have been my examples to follow. I identify more with Sharapova’s personality“, said.

Since mid-2019, Natalia moved to Merida Yucatan, from where she was invited to participate in a draft, in which he works together with a team made up of four people.

“I have a whole team at the Academy in Mérida. My main coach is Sandor Martinez and Alain Lemaitre and my physical coach is called Gerardo Gonzalez. I have been with them for a year and a half training all day and the one that helps me with physiotherapy is Sofia Perez. They invited me to a project a little over a year and a half ago and I went to live there (to Mérida) At the age of 13 and we started with this training project and that’s when I decided to move to Mérida for tennis and start this career, I had always trained in Monterrey, ”shared Fantini.

In reference to her agenda for this new year, the Monterrey woman indicated that one of her plans is to tour the old continent, which is not yet safe due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The 2021 calendar is still in process due to the pandemic because it is not yet known if we will be able to travel to Europe, but Those that are already confirmed are the tournaments in Central and South America at the beginning of next year and there will also be some here in Mexico that are to be confirmed, but they would be played in Tampico and Guadalajara and then I want to tour France and Italy ”, he mentioned.

Finally, she admitted that her long-term goal is to become a professional player and play the Grand Slam tournaments (Wimbledon, Roland Garros, US Open and Australian Open).

One of my goals in the junior career is to be able to play a Junior Grand Slam and advance rounds until reaching the Final and the tournament I have in sight is Wimbledon. Afterwards, my long-term goal is to become a professional tennis player and play the Grand Slam tournaments ”, concluded Natalia Fantini.
