The relationship between Deshaun Watson and Houston Texans it is not one that the club can, properly, boast.
Hiring Nick Caserio As general manager of the Texans, he left Watson “extremely unhappy” with the franchise, reported Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
According to insider, Cal McNair, owner of the organization, previously agreed with the fourth-year quarterback that he would be briefed on the hiring process to replace Bill O’Brien, who left the club after the first four weeks of the calendar. The passer was promised to give weight to his voice at a dinner McNair held with the Clemson alumnus, but was ultimately not notified of Caserio’s hiring.
“My goal is to hire great people who fit the Houston Texans. I want to build something that our fans, players and staff are proud of, ”McNair told Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Watson learned of Caserio’s hiring through social media, and the names the quarterback offered for the position were not consulted or considered by the team, Schefter said.
“Some things never change,” the player wrote on Twitter. He later deleted the message.
According to Rapoport, the club have tried to contact the passer, but have received no response in recent days.
Watson asks Bienemy; Texans skip it
Also vacant the position for head coach, ending Romeo Crennel with the 12-game interim (4-8), according to Albert Breer, of Sports Illustrated, Watson asked the Texans to consider Eric Bienemy, Andy Reid’s apprentice as Kansas City offensive coordinator Chiefs since 2018.
