PSG: no discussion for the transfer of Kean

Scorer this Wednesday against Saint-Etienne (1-1), striker Moise Kean is one of the few mid-season satisfactions on the side of PSG. The 20-year-old Italian international has already scored a trifle of 10 goals, in all competitions, under the Parisian colors since his signing on October 4. A flattering ratio for this player supposed to play the liners of Mauro Icardi but who was able to take advantage of the two long-lasting injuries of the Argentine striker.

This efficiency is not to displease the Parisian leaders in the forefront of which the sports director Leonardo, the architect of his arrival as part of a loan without an option to buy by the club of Everton. “In England, it’s different. Normally, you make loans with an option to buy. But if we had put one (Editor’s note: a purchase option), it would have been so high that we could not have lifted it. It would have had to be renegotiated, ”Leonardo explained last November.

Paris must manage significant losses

Contractually, Kean is therefore supposed to find the Toffees next June, a club with which he is linked until 2024. Except that at the beginning of the week, Sky Sports mentioned discussions between PSG and Everton to result in a final transfer of the former Juventus player. The sum of 31 million pounds, or nearly 35 million euros, was even mentioned. But, according to our information, the capital club has not entered into discussions with its English counterpart to make the Italian a full-fledged player in its workforce.

The emerging transfer window is not one of the crazy expenses for Paris which will have to deal with significant losses at the end of the season linked to the consequences of the pandemic (ticketing, sponsorship…) and the suspension of payments relating to TV rights. In this context, PSG will rather focus on finding good deals as was already the case during the summer market. For Kean, it will probably be necessary to wait until the end of the season.
