Jakarta

In the Saint-Etienne vs Paris Saint-Germain match, Mauricio Pochettino was again seen on the sidelines as a coach. He started the comeback moment with a draw.

Pochettino just returned to training again after being appointed by PSG, who previously parted ways with Thomas Tuchel. Since being laid off by Tottenham Hotspur in November 2019, Les Parisien has become the first team handled by Pochettino.

The moment of Mauricio Pochettino’s first match after returning to training was played in an away match when Saint-Etienne vs Paris Saint-Germain, Thursday (7/1) in the morning WIB.

At the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, the game immediately got into a frenzy with both teams spreading threats on goal. Keylor Navas had to act to prevent Harold Moukoudi’s shot and on the other side of the field there was Moise Kean who tested Jessy Moulin.

Mauricio Pochettino returned to training and then had to be marked by seeing his team’s goal break first in the 19th minute. Denis Bouanga took advantage of Idrissa Gueye’s unpreparedness, and then Romain Hamouma scored a goal against PSG.

However, PSG reacted quickly. Saint-Etienne’s advantage lasted only three minutes because in the 22nd minute there was Moise Kean who equalized the score after taking advantage of Marco Verratti’s pass. That was PSG’s first goal in the Pocchettino era.

PSG then dominated possession, with Saint-Etienne also threatening the visitors several times. Match ends 1-1. One additional point has brought PSG up to second in the French League standings, winning on goal difference over Lille.

“We know them [Saint-Etienne] teams that are not easy to deal with, that are tightly packed in midfield. We have tried to create opportunities, play more ‘alive’, “said Marquinhos, PSG captain, as reported by the Daily Mail.

“This is a new phase for us. We must continue to work hard and adapt to the new system of coaches,” he continued regarding the style that Pochettino applied to this Saint-Etienne vs Paris Saint-Germain match.
