At the end of the 80s, this tennis enthusiast promoted the El Espinar tournament, through which rackets as illustrious as Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Feliciano López, Henri Leconte, Sergi Bruguera, Juan Martín del Potro, Emilio Sánchez Vicario, Andy Murray, Fernando Verdasco, Yevgeny Kafelnikov. In 1991 he became the best Challenger in the world. Today, it continues to be one of the reference tournaments in Spain.
In 2001 he acceded to the presidency of the Madrid Tennis Federation and worked, above all, to help the youngest. In 2005 he was elected president of Hispaniola. Under his mandate Spain achieved 2008 Davis Cup, ending in Mar del Plata.
