Patrick Mahomes, quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, confirmed that he received the green light to play Sunday, for the ticket to Super Bowl LV, against the Buffalo Bills.
“I’m ready,” said passer and trophy defender Vince Lombardi.
Andy Reid, coach of Kansas City, said Mahomes would be evaluated by doctors to see if he can be on the grid at Arrowhead Stadium; hours later, the Most Valuable Player of 2018 confirmed his discharge.
Mahomes came out in shock last Sunday, before the Chiefs closed the victory (22-17) over the Cleveland Browns, in the divisional round. The talented QB went through various exercises and steps of the League protocol, which he exempted and that is why he may be in the final of the American Conference title, his third in a row.
“Luckily I have had no symptoms,” added Mahomes. “The week has been several tests, a few different things just to make sure I’m ready and there are no lingering effects or anything like that. I feel better. The next day I was very sore, every day since then I have improved a lot. It wasn’t as bad as it seemed. “
Kansas City hopes to repeat its invitation to the Super Bowl, now in its LV edition, which will be played at Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, on February 7.
