Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Semifinal Curse Problem

Manchester

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has brought Manchester United to match Liverpool at the top of the Premier League. Now Solskjaer has another important task, namely ending the semifinal curse.

After being criticized because of MU’s fluctuating performance, Solskjaer is now being praised again for being able to bring the team to go fast. Since losing to Arsenal last October, MU is unbeaten in the last 10 games in the Premier League.

MU was brought by Solskjaer to match Liverpool at the top of the standings with 33 points from 16 matches. MU even still has one saved game so that the top position could be controlled alone.

This condition makes the players’ confidence increase, and of course the fans are increasingly happy to see MU’s development lately. When the poor form in the league is resolved, Solskjaer has another important task in the middle of the week.

MU will compete for tickets to the English League Cup final with Manchester City at Old Trafford. This could be a great opportunity for Solskjaer and United to end their four-year drought, having last won the trophy in 2017.

However, the problem is that Solskjaer has a bad record in the semifinals. Last season, United advanced to three semifinals of the English League Cup, FA Cup and Europa League, all of which ended in failure.

Solskjaer certainly understands the “curse” must be ended and he promised to do so in the match against City, Thursday (7/1/2021) early morning WIB.

“We are happy to be able to advance to the semifinals and of course the semifinals mean we have a chance to go to the final,” Solskjaer was quoted as saying Daily Mail.

“We could not go through that last season. But, we have developed a lot after that and we are determined to pay off now,” he continued.

“Regarding the position in the league, this is a long season and I think this team needs a lot to learn. We’ll see our position in March, April,” concluded Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
