Coronavirus concerns continue to grow among the Cleveland Browns who reported two new cases Thursday, three days away from their game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Browns have confirmed tight end Harrison Bryant and linebacker Malcolm Smith tested positive for COVID-19. They therefore closed their training complex for a second day in a row, in order to lead the contact tracing process.

NFL officials have indicated that the status of the game has not changed.

The Browns will advance to the playoffs for the first time since 2002 if they manage to beat the Steelers. The latter, already qualified for the playoffs, will give leave to some of their regular players, including quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

Bryant and Smith will miss Sunday’s game, as will linebacker BJ Goodson and safety half Andrew Sendejo, who also underwent positive tests.

The Browns were deprived of eight players last Sunday, including their top four wide-spreaders, and suffered a setback at the hands of the New York Jets.

Receivers Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins, Donovan Peoples-Jones and KhaDarel Hodge were given the green light to resume training on Thursday.

A Browns assistant coach was also diagnosed positive earlier this week.
