New trainer for Klinsmann’s son Jonathan at LA Galaxy

Jonathan Klinsmann, the son of ex-national coach Jürgen Klinsmann, has a new coach. The American Greg Vanney is the new coach of the Los Angeles Galaxy.

Greg Vanney returns to Los Angeles Galaxy from Major League Soccer (MLS) as a coach. The former defender, whose football career began 25 years ago with the club from California, succeeds Argentine Guillermo Barros Schelotto.

Vanney played for the Galaxy from 1996 to 2001, in 2008 the 46-year-old American returned to LA and shortly thereafter ended his playing career. For the past six years, Vanney was head coach at league rival Toronto FC. “I will work tirelessly for the club, the fans and Los Angeles to win the championship,” said Vanney.

The former Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez from Leverkusen and goalkeeper Jonathan Klinsmann, son of the former national coach Jürgen Klinsmann, play for LA.
