New hire for the Canadian

The Canadian has just announced the hiring of Ben Shutron as an amateur recruiter in the West.

His responsibilities will therefore be mainly in the WHL.

This is his first job as a recruiter, having previously been a manager for the Canadian team at the Spengler Cup and for the Canadian team at the WJC in 2021.

He is a former player who played in OHL and ECHL, among others. He won the Memorial Cup in Windsor.

Ultimately, he takes the place of Ken Morin, who held this position since 2010. He will have big shoes to fill since the CH has drafted seven players in the last four draftings in the WHL.

Ken Morin, meanwhile, followed Shane Churla to the Florida Panthers – which explains the opening of the post. The news has not yet been announced, however, but it can be deduced by looking at Morin’s LinkedIn account.

So we’re talking about another hockey man lost to the Panthers.

The team also hired Yannick St-Pierre as a video recruiter. Welcome to 2021.
