New crisis committee on Tuesday at the Belgian Union: the white season for amateur football more than ever on the table!

While we were hoping for a return to training in mid-January for the over 12s and a resumption of competitions a little later, none of that. Amateur football (like other sports) will not resume until March. A decision which obliges the ACFF, the VV and the Belgian Union to meet again this Tuesday. And this time, the white season is more than ever on the table for football from National 1 to P4. “It is certain that we are no longer so optimistic”, declared David Delferière, president of the Association of Francophone Football Clubs.

Indeed, playing the imagined half-championship by resuming training in March seems difficult to imagine. “The cartridges are not inexhaustible.”

Are there still other solutions than the white season? “We could say that we change the end of the season, that we play in June, from April 1, when it was not planned … But all that will be reviewed. The shorter the period is for clubs facing their financial obligations. By resuming in January, there would have been six months to organize various events, bring in money and complete the budget. In three months, it is impossible to replace a full season at this level. ”

It will be understood that the time for decision seems to have come. “At some point, you will have to say stop or else.”
