Bradley Beal’s 60 points weren’t enough for the Washington Wizards to win, as they fell 141-136 against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Beal achieved this feat in 38:15 of play. This is the 75th time in NBA history that a player has reached 60 points in a game.

In the win, Joel Embiid finished the game with 38 points and 8 rebounds.

The Sixers are 7-1 under Doc Rivers, who is in his first season in Philadelphia.

Beal emulated Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors who also had a 60-point performance earlier this season.

Beal, who has already put in back-to-back performances of 53 and 55 points, had a free shot with 4.4 seconds to hit 60.

He collected 32 points in the first half, which allows him to emulate Michael Jordan (34 points in 2001) and Gilbert Arenas (33 points in 2006 and 30 in 2007) who are the only other Wizards players to reach 30 points. in the first half for the past 20 years.

Seth Curry of the 76ers had seven straight three-pointers in the first half and finished with 28 points.

Ben Simmons added 17 points and 12 assists. Tobias Harris was the author of 19 points.

For his part, Russell Westbrook collected 20 points for the Wizards.

The Magic loses Fultz in victory

The Orlando Magic defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers by a score of 105-94.

In the victory, the Quebecers Khem Birch and Karim Mané put their two cents. Thus Birch collected six points and ten rebounds while Karim Mané obtained two points.

However, the team lost the services of Markelle Fultz in the first quarter and he did not return afterwards.

He injured his left knee as he rushed for the net. He slumped to the ground and immediately held onto the knee. It will have to be evaluated more seriously.

Fultz, who is in his fourth season, is averaging 14.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game.

The Thunder wins in extremis in New Orleans

Thunder 111 – Pelicans 110

George Hill converted two free throws with 12 seconds on the clock and the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 111-110.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker was lucky enough to snatch the win for the Pelicans, but his long-range shot missed the mark.

Ontario’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the visitors with 21 points and 9 assists.

Darius Bazley had 20 points and 12 rebounds and Mike Muscala added 18 points, including five three-pointers.

Hill provided 13 points, while Montrealer Luguentz Dort had nine points.

In the dying moments, Dort did a fine job of countering a potential foray from Brandon Ingram, who turned to a pass to Alexander-Walker. The latter’s shot hit the back of the hoop.

The Thunder will be back in action Friday against the Knicks in New York. The match will be shown on RDS, starting at 7:30 p.m.

Zion Williamson led the Pelicans with 29 points.

He managed a basket that gave his side a 110-109 lead with 32 seconds to go, before Hill’s successes.

Boston se venge de Miami

The reunion was expected, four months after the final of the Eastern Conference which had turned in favor of the Heat, and it was the Celtics who this time had the last word (107-105), at the end of an exciting match and tight which was played 2 / 10th of the final bell, on a victorious tap from rookie Payton Pritchard, the shortest player on the field (1.87 m).

A minute earlier, his team were ten lengths ahead and believed they had won. But Miami again proved giving up is not a word in its vocabulary, hitting three baskets behind the arc by Duncan Robinson, twice, with one bonus foul, and by Goran Dragic.

A reaction that was not enough to prevent Boston from aligning a third success in a row, also due to the 27 points of Jayson Tatum.

The Heat, despite a good Jimmy Butler (26 pts, 8 rebounds), returned to the negative (3 wins, 4 losses).

New York continues to surprise

The Knicks, moribund for several years, are the pleasant surprise of the start of the season. Under the guidance of new coach Tom Thibodeau, the team has regained its combat virtues, especially in defense, and it is Utah which has paid the price (112-100).

Led by 12 points at halftime, New York made up for it thanks in particular to the 30 pawns (16 rebounds, 7 assists) of winger Julius Randle, despite the dissuasive presence of Frenchman Rudy Gobert inside (12 rebounds , 5 blocks, 14 points). Austin Rivers rounded off the job, with four long-distance streamers in the final four minutes.

This fifth victory in eight games puts the Knicks up to Boston and Milwaukee, which also had a third straight success in Detroit (130-115).
