NBA: Stephen Curry signs a stunning record with 62 points in one game

More prolific than ever. Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry scored 62 points Sunday night, a personal best that eased his victory over Portland, as the Clippers moved to the top of the Western Conference with their victory over the Suns.

Certainly, Damian Lillard (32 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists) or CJ McCollum (28 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists) have not been unworthy of the Trail Blazers. But Sunday in San Francisco, Stephen Curry stole the show.

Still far from Wilt Chamberlain’s absolute record

With 62 points, the Golden State star scored close to half of his team’s points, ultimately winning Portland 137-122.

The double MVP signed Sunday the most prolific match of his career, a good distance, however, from the absolute record in the NBA, held by Wilt Chamberlain with 100 points in 1962.

“I try to stay humble and in the moment. As long as I continue to be aggressive and decisive, then good things will continue to happen, ”said Curry, whose game-best total so far was 54 points.

All was not perfect Sunday for the star of the six-fold NBA champions, however. Missing a free throw in the first quarter, Curry interrupted a streak of 80 converted throws in a row since March 2019.
