Marie Benoit succeeds in opening the Australian Open qualification


In the first round of qualifying for the Australian Open, tennis player Marie Benoit (WTA 237) from Eupen won a victory on Monday in Dubai.

Against the 21-year-old Australian Seone Mendez (WTA 277), who slipped into the qualifying tournament with a wild card, the 25-year-old needed 74 minutes to beat Mendez 6-0 and 6-2.
