Leopards basketball grant file: towards the end of the tunnel

The file relating to the subsidy of the Leopards basketball senior men A of the Democratic Republic of the Congo by the government is now on track.

The assurances given to the fourth vice-president of the Congo Basketball Federation (FEBACO), Joé Lolonga, by the Deputy Budget Minister Guy Momat, were not just empty words. The promise has been kept. The file is now on the table of the Minister of Finance, Sele Yalaghuli.

Left as orphans last November in Rwanda to take part in the penultimate qualifying window of Afrobasket 2021, the Congolese beasts can count this time on the evolution of their file in the chain of government spending, in order to start with an inflated morale, the preparation of the last qualifying phase which will be played from February 19 to 21, 2021.

Indeed, the rapid completion of this file will allow FEBACO, without real financial means, to pay not only the debts contracted for the travel documents of the Leopards and their companions during the previous phase, but also to motivate them before the last window.

Recall that despite financial troubles, the Congolese ambassadors finished second in their group with 5 points, one defeat, two wins, 187 baskets registered and 176 conceded.
