Despite being behind early in the game, UTEP had hot hands in the second half, shooting an incredible 75 percent from the field to outscore LA Tech, 47-32, in the final two quarters.

Katia Gallegos added 12 points, six assists and three steals in 34 minutes of play that she had on the floor, consolidating herself in the starting box and being a key piece for her team, which came out of the bad streak and is heading to continue reaping more victories .

The sweep over LA Tech marks the first time a UTEP team has achieved back-to-back victories over the Lady Techstars, since the 2015-16 season.

Mineras UTEP will seek to extend its winning streak; this day they will travel to San Antonio to face the Roadrunners on Saturday, January 30, to close out the weekend.
