Bad luck for the Belgian (Dutch-speaking) judokas in training at Mittersill! Arrived Sunday, in Austria, after a journey of 800 km, they have already had to put away their kimonos and pack up. The authorities have, in fact, canceled everything in the region … At issue: several cases of Covid-19 among … ski instructors in the small village who apparently did not comply with health measures and have tested positive.
“These monitors came out of their bubble and unfortunately contracted this damn virus!”, explains Pascal Bakker, the coordinator of the Dutch national team.
More than 200 judokas from 13 countries gathered in Mittersill for the traditional start of the season course. Among them, the Belgians Matthias Casse and Toma Nikiforov, among others… The last straw is that, to be able to participate in this international camp, all the judokas had undergone two tests before arriving and still had to pass another one every two days. Particularly strict measures, but perfectly respected!
We have to believe that not everyone is so careful since … 17 ski instructors were infected and tested positive for Covid-19 after attending a class in a room.
