‘It’s over’ – Dimitar Berbatov believes Jesse Lingard is not trusted by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Berbatov feels Lingard must leave Old Trafford to find his best game again.

Jesse Lingard’s time with Manchester United is over, according to Dimitar Berbatov, who says Ole Gunnar Solskjaer no longer has faith in the midfielder’s abilities.

Lingard has only made three appearances for the Red Devils this season but his contract has only recently been extended to 2022.

The 28-year-old played 80 minutes during United’s 1-0 FA Cup win over Watford, when he was replaced by Nemanja Matic.

United are said to have extended Lingard’s contract just to avoid losing the player for free next summer, while rumors of a move continue to blow.

Berbatov felt that Solskjaer no longer had a place for Lingard.

“Honestly, Lingard’s time there is up. He’s not playing. He has missed the opportunity to prove his worth,” said Berbatov at Stadium Astro.

“It’s obvious now, Ole doesn’t believe it. And to be honest, there really is no place for Lingard.”

“When you’ve been at a club for a long time, until now you’re 28, you have to look back. Am I satisfied? Am I happy here? Is my time up?”

“So I think he has to move, he has to go and play somewhere else.”

“His new team may not be as big as United, but he will get time to play to show his best again. I still remember him starting and scoring goals for England.”

“But it’s all gone, I think he must find the best game again as before,” he said.
