Prior to the trip to Colombia, Uruguayan defender Alexis Rolín spoke about his arrival at Deportivo Independiente Medellín. The former captain of the Rentistas champion travels this Tuesday, January 5, to the capital of Antioquia to join the work of the red team of Antioquia.
“I spoke with (Hernán) ‘Bolillo’ Gómez, he told me a little about how the team is doing, they are in a phase of change and that is what I know about the club now. I also spoke with Matías Mier, who signed recently and as he arrives, I will be getting to know them. They come from two very hard years, where they did not get the results, but the idea is to arrive and have a good season, “said Rolín in dialogue with the Sport 890 program ‘Quiero Fútbol’ in Uruguay.
Regarding the negotiation for his arrival at the powerful, Alexis specified that “the transfer was quite fast, he had renewed two weeks ago with Rentistas and if a good offer arrived, they were not going to oppose it. The offer came, I told them and they kept their word. The negotiations were on complicated dates, but they were closed on December 31 in the afternoon ”.
In addition, the former Boca said that “I had not thought of leaving, in my head was to stay in Uruguay. A good offer came, I spoke with the club, it served them and me too, I want to thank them for accepting.”
Alexis suffered from covid-19 over the end of the year. The defender reflected on the subject and assured that he is very well in the physical part to join the DIM. “I’m fine physically, getting ready. I have not played since I left with the National Team, I had to overcome covid-19, although the only change I saw was that I lost a few kilos. But I was strong in the head and I started to think about those who are not having a good time ”.
Personally, Rolín took stock of 2020, where he raised the Uruguayan title with the modest Rentistas. “Taking out everything that was the virus, personally and for Rentistas it was a great year. Several colleagues had the opportunity to go to other places and that is very good. I’m happy with what that year was like ”.
Finally, he commented on his new journey to international football. “When you play in those types of clubs, you are marked. While that was a few years ago, it is present. I hope to be at the level of the DIM and do everything possible so that the team is well ”.
