In a great match, Atenas lost to Quimsa in the Supplementary

Although they played a great game, Athens could not face leader Quimsa and fell 97-90 for the National League in a match that ended in the supplementary.

Already in the second quarter the procedure was not easy and Quimsa dominated at times, although without making much difference to an Athens that was always competitive.

The third quarter was superior for Quimsa, who ended up taking it 27-19 and went to the break 63-57 up.

However, Atenas had a magnificent start to the fourth quarter, with two triples, and got a 7-0 run to go on to win 64-63 thanks to a great performance by Matías Martínez, who played a great game.

The Santiago team recovered and went on to win six up, a few minutes from the end. But when it seemed that the match was being taken by the leader of the League, Athens reappeared on the scene with a great match from Lema and drew 82-82, for the match to be defined in the supplementary.

El Griego is sixteenth in the table, with seven victories and 17 defeats, while the Santiago residents continue as leaders, with 21 wins and just four falls.

Atenas will play again next Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. when they face Instituto in a new edition of the Córdoba classic.
