Handball: France beats Hungary and qualifies for the semi-finals

These Blues have a taste for the end of a suspenseful match. In the quarter-finals of the Handball World Cup, Guillaume Gille’s players were once again scared against the Hungarians, but they knew how to put the small goal it took to win in overtime (35-32).

Mistreated in the first period, Guillaume Gille’s players had managed to recover after the break, even thinking of winning quietly before the end of regulation time. But the Hungarians returned in the dying minutes of the second half to snatch extra time.

During these ten minutes of additional playing time, Vincent Gérard notably made the difference in goals. Prematurely eliminated from the Euro last year, France will be present this time in the last four. She will face Sweden.
