Dimitri Van den Bergh was unable to live up to the high expectations at the Masters. Our fellow countryman remained below his level throughout the match and lost 6-2 to the Englishman Chris Dobey in the first round.
In the first round of these Masters, the participants played a “best of 11 legs”. So the message was to start well, but our compatriot failed to do so.
Van den Bergh quickly faced a 2-0 deficit and realized that it would be difficult to push through. Our compatriot did return to 2-2, but was unable to win any leg after that.
