For Luis Miguel Camacho, no triumph deserves to be above another.

Luís Miguel Camacho Borrero has played badminton for 16 years, his experience and national recognition made him one of the top-level athletes, repatriated by the Quindío government.

Despite the limited conditions for training in 2020, the athlete did not stop his activities. Maintaining your physical condition and strengthening your skills on a daily basis is a constant in your life.

After training a few months at home, he returned to the sports field and in December he participated in the South American Senior Championship that took place in Lima, Peru and obtained third place in the team modality.

Camacho trains 6 days a week in double shift: “I divide the rehearsals into 3 hours of strengthening and 3 hours of technical tactical work and physical preparation.”

For now, no competitions are contemplated within the calendar of the Colombian Badminton Federation, but Camacho Borrero has been training in Quindiano territory since last October, with the goal of acquiring medals with the department’s shirt.

“Possibly during the year 2 valid nationals and an international tournament are held, but they are events that depend on the behavior of the pandemic.”

Luis Miguel competed for the Cundinamarca team. In this territory he achieved the sum of victories and great results for his professional career.

Until last year he was part of the national team. Now he has his mind on the 2023 National and Paranational Sports Games, as a benchmark for Quindío.

“The most difficult thing in this discipline is that the level of concentration influences a lot. It is a sport where not only physical preparation must be worked on, but also mental preparation. It requires a lot of psychological work to handle the pressure ”, were the words of Camacho Borrero.
