Finger: Playing in the center position makes it easier for me

Latvian basketball player Kristaps Porziņģis, playing in the center position, finds it easier to realize the throws, after the victory concludes Liepāja resident.

It has already been reported that Porziņģis scored 27 points on Wednesday and helped the Dallas “Mavericks” team away in Indianapolis with the result 124: 112 (37:28, 28:35, 28:29, 31:20) to beat the Indians “Pacers”.

Porziņģis and the team had a successful start to the game and, using the opponent’s carelessness in defense, the Latvian scored several points from the bottom of the basket after Dončič’s passes. In the first six minutes of the game, Porziņģis scored ten points before the substitution.

“We started well and made easy throws, especially at the basket. I play my game and use my opportunities. Sometimes it happens that you manage to realize a shot after a shot and quickly enter the rhythm of the game, ”explained Porziņģis.

At the same time, he still believes he can improve his performance.

“However, I feel that at times I fall short of, for example, the possibilities to block throws. I still work to be explosive on my feet and be where I should be, ”said the basketball player.

Porziņģis successfully worked in the penalty area on Wednesday, realizing 11 out of 12 two-point shots from a close distance.

“I think it’s easier for me to play in the center position. When I go to the cart, I have a lot of free space. Luka also did a good job involving the team members. In the first quarter, four of my five baskets were after great passes from teammates. So I didn’t really have to do anything, just put a veil and go to the basket to end the attack. Today it was successful because there were a lot of good and undisturbed throws, ”explained Porziņģis.

The Mavericks are ninth in the Western Conference with seven wins in 14 games.

On Friday, the Dalasians will visit the San Antonio “Spurs”, but then return home to play against Rodion Kuruc’s Houston Rockets and Denver’s Nuggets.
