Feba Civitanova defeated at home by Umbertide Women’s Basketball

Feba Civitanova Marche struggles but has to surrender to the Umbertide Truffle Shop. At the end of a match in which the defenses prevailed over the attacks, the momò gave up 49-64 against the Umbrians who achieved their sixth consecutive victory. A test of character and heart for the biancoblu, against the second force of the group, which was not enough to capture the first victory of 2021.

Feba Civitanova still appears without Bolognini while Judge is missing among the Umbrians. Ready to go and the guests go 0-4 but both teams are very wrong in attack. The momos chase their opponents and, thanks to a good defense, arrive at 10-13 with which the first quarter ends. In the second fraction the biancoblu go forward for the first time, 15-13 with Trobbiani, and a prolonged question and answer begins. Umbertide tries to escape, 17-22 with 3’45 ” from the end, the girls of coach Dragonetto stay there and Bocola hits 22-22. Dell’Olio puts the 23-24 basket at the end of the game with which he goes to the long rest.

At the resumption of hostilities Kotnis puts some heavy baskets, 28-34, but the Feba comes back under with Rosellini, 34-36 with 4’15 ” from the end. Moriconi in the final puts the triple of 38-44 which allows the extension to the Umbrians. In the last period Bocola and Castellani try to keep the momos in the wake, while coach Staccini puts in two long ones to have more centimeters. The move turns out to be spot on because Kotnis and Baldi start scoring continuously, 42-52, while coach Dragonetto loses Castellani prematurely for five fouls. The guests take off in the last three minutes, closing the final 49-64.

“The bitter taste remains – comments coach Dragonetto – because for most of the match we played on par with Umbertide, who is one of the top teams in the championship. Compared to the last two home losses this evening we played and defended less than a team in times of difficulty: when we did not defend as a team we suffered too many one-on-one while in attack for the first two quarters we did well, even if we some counter-attacks failed, while in the third and last quarter we had to continue to make a few more passes to free the player from shooting, instead of trying individual solutions. We have to continue to play as a team and pass the ball as we did in the first two quarters, to bring home the games ”.
