easycredit BBL: Narrow victory for Bavaria

Title candidate Bayern Munich barely avoided another setback in the easycredit Basketball Bundesliga (BBL).

Andrea Trinchieri’s team prevailed against the newly promoted Niners Chemnitz with a lot of effort 77:76 (39:33).

The best thrower for Bayern, who now have eight wins and two defeats, was Nick Weiler-Babb with 19 points. Most recently, Munich had lost the top game against champions ALBA Berlin 72:85 in the league. (Table of the BBL)

Berlin and Frankfurt win confidently

The Berliners won on Sunday 92:82 (45:37) against the Giessen 46ers and celebrated their eighth victory in the ninth game. The hosts’ best thrower was Simone Fontecchio with 18 points, while Scottie James Jr. scored 26 points in the Mittelhessen.

Munich were in the lead for a long time in the first half, but after the break the guests got better and better into the game. In the middle of the last quarter the Chemnitz team even expanded their lead to eight points before Bayern turned it up again and an enormously close game developed.
