Two former Real Madrid teammates will face off in the best league in the world when the Mavericks host the Nuggets.
There is a great game this Monday at the NBA. Face Dallas Mavericks against Denver Nuggets with the participation of two great bases, friends and former teammates: Facundo Campazzo and Luka Doncic.
The Argentine and the Slovenian lived unforgettable moments when they were part of the Real Madrid squad. Together, they won the 2018 Euroleague when Luka was still a promising youngster who was showing all his talent in Europe and Campazzo was asserting himself as one of the best point guards on the old continent.
Almost three years later, the two figures of that merengue team will meet at the American Airlines Center, where their respective teams will seek to add a victory to settle at the top of the table in the Western Conference.
After an irregular start to the season and with many cases of Covid on its roster, Dallas maintains an 8-8 record on its account. Meanwhile, the Nuggets, after starting the season with four of five losses, were able to straighten the boat with Nikola Jokic as a great figure to remain at this moment with a 9-7 record.
It must be said that the realities of the two players mentioned above are very different: Doncic is the great figure of Dallas and candidate for MVP of the regular season. For his part, Campazzo has had good and bad, and has yet to fully gain the trust of Mike Malone. So then, his minutes on the court are wavering depending on the game.
We will have to wait for Malone to decide to give Campazzo minutes on Monday, so that he can then enjoy the rivalry between the two great bases for the first time.
It should be noted that, if the latest antecedent is taken into account, the omens are not very good: when the Mavs met the Nuggets on January 7, Campazzo did not enter the court for a minute. Meanwhile, Doncic had 38 points, 13 assists and 9 rebounds for Dallas’ supplemental victory 124-117.
