Dinamo Rīga suffers loss against “Neftehimik” – Hockey club Dinamo Rīga official website

The Riga “Dinamo” team suffered the fifth loss in a row in the Continental Hockey League (KHL) championship on Sunday, giving up 2: 3 (0: 3, 1: 0, 1: 0) to the Neftehimik “Neftehimik” of the Eastern Conference.

Andris Džeriņš and Gennady Stolarov scored the goal for the people of Riga.

“Neftehimik” hockey players managed the field in the first period, leaving no hope for the guests and scoring three goals in seven minutes. First the puck was fired at the empty gate by Bulat Shafigullin, but then from a sharp angle Pavel Porjadin was accurate. Porjadin also scored the third goal for the home team, who came alone against Ivan Nalimov and reached 3: 0. Porjadinam was assisted at both gates by Brendon McMillan, a former resident of Riga.

In the fifth minute of the second third, “Neftehimik” goalkeeper Yevgeny Ivanikov made a mistake in the closing, for which he was punished. Danila Larionovs scored from the goal to the middle of the zone, from where Džeriņš was accurate, scoring his first goal of the season. In the continuation of the period, “Dinamo” played twice in the majority, but was unable to use their advantage.

In the first half of the third cut, after Jerry’s foul, Dinamo played in the minority for four minutes and passed. In the second half of the period, in the 52nd minute, Stoļarovs further reduced the dominance of the owners of the field with a long throw.

Already two and a half minutes before the end of the regular time, Naļimovs was substituted for the sixth player of the field. True, such a step did not work and “Dinamo” lost the match 2: 3, but after the final whistle, the hockey players of both teams in the corner of the field were a little pushed.

The Riga club with 21 points in 45 games takes the last place in the league, while “Neftehimik” with 30 points in 46 matches in the Eastern Conference ranks penultimate or 11th place.

After the game against the “Neftehimik” team, three more matches are planned for the Rigans, the last of which will be played against the “Dynamo” of Moscow on January 23.
