The City Football Group (CFG) is looking to buy Nancy from the French second division. The group, which already owns several clubs around the world, including Manchester City, had to halt talks due to the coronavirus, but should soon be resumed.
Nancy’s current president, Jacques Rousselot, believes in the deal as soon as things are back to normal. To L’Équipe, he said the deal would have been closed in late March, but the coronavirus prevented it.
“We still want to acquire Nancy. We are facing a global crisis. Today, there are aspects over which we have no control, but despite this, we have not changed direction,” said the CFG, in a statement.
The clubs managed by the CFG are: Manchester City (England), New York City (USA), Melbourne City (Australia), Yokohama F. Marinos (Japan), Guayaquil City (Ecuador), Montevideo City Torque (Uruguay), Girona (Spain) ), Sichuan Jiuniu (China) and Mumbai City (India).
