This is also the first time that the World Badminton Federation has placed three of the four top-level tours of the year in the same country in the same month. These three events should have been held in Changzhou, China, Jakarta, Indonesia and Guangzhou, China this year, but due to the epidemic As a result, the World Badminton Federation finally decided to schedule these three events to be held in Thailand in January next year.

The Chinese badminton team stated in its retirement announcement: For the three matches to be held in Thailand in January next year, the players have expressed their strong willingness and determination to participate. However, recently, the outbreak in Thailand suddenly broke out again. At present, the total number of confirmed cases has reached 6,440. The virus in Europe has mutated, and there are sporadic cases in China. For the health and safety of athletes and coaches, after careful consideration, the Chinese Badminton Association decided to withdraw from the three races held in Thailand in January 2021, continue to train in the country, and maintain the state of exercise.

The Chinese badminton team has previously signed up to participate in these three competitions, except for veterans Chen Long and Zhang Nan, all the other main players have signed up, and occupy the top seeds in the women’s doubles and mixed doubles events.

It is understood that the Chinese badminton team has booked a ticket before and should fly to Thailand yesterday.
