Nick Doodeman exchanges FC Volendam for SC Cambuur in the summer. The club from Leeuwarden, joint leader of the Kitchen Champion Division, brings in the attacking midfielder free of transfer.
Cambuur announces the arrival of Doodeman on Wednesday with a playful video. After missing out on promotion to the Eredivisie, the sticker action #cambuurkomteraan started in Leeuwarden to support the club in difficult times. “What are you doing? You are much too late”, says technical manager Foeke Booy with a wink to Doodeman.

Doodeman (24) made his debut for FC Volendam in 2017 and was immediately good for sixteen assists during his first Kitchen Champion Division season. He is also in good shape in this football year: eight goals and ten assists – including three against Young PSV and five (!) Against Young AZ – in twenty league matches.
After four years in the main force of Volendam, Doodeman is now waiting for the step to Cambuur, which does not pay a transfer fee for him. The attacker’s contract expires. Cambuur is on course for an Eredivisie ticket. After 21 of the 38 rounds of play, Henk de Jong’s team, together with Almere City, is at the top, with six points ahead of number three De Graafschap.
