The biathlon saw it go on stage for the World Cup 2020-2021 in Germany, ad Oberhof, the sixth stage of the major circuit. In sixth round of competitions there were nine Italians protagonists: among the men Lukas Hofer, Didier Bionaz, Dominik Windisch, Thomas Bormolini and Tommaso Giacomel were at the start, while among the women there were Lisa Vittozzi, Dorothea Wierer, Federica Sanfilippo and Irene Lardschneider.

Both male and female were disputed sprint, relay and mass start. The most accurate after the first six seasonal stages is always Dorothea Wierer, which remains above 90% overall, with the overall World Cup holder excelling in this ranking among the representatives of Italy already last season.
