Because of tattoos, Bayern Munich Law Corentin Tolisso

Tolisso was considered to have violated the Covid-19 health protocol because he was caught making new tattoos on his body.

For getting a tattoo, Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso had to be fined by his club and was also dropped from the squad in the German Bundesliga match against Hoffenheim, Saturday (30/1).

His non-compliance with health protocols amid the Covid-19 pandemic is the basis for why Tolisso was punished by Bayern. Getting a tattoo is considered against these rules.

Last week, Tolisso was found to have uploaded a video of himself on social media where he was seen getting a tattoo. He doesn’t seem to be wearing a mask, and neither does the tattoo maker. The tattoo studio should also not operate because Germany has implemented a quarantine to suppress transmission of the corona virus.

In his official statement regarding the matter, Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge explained, “In this situation, we should remain happy because the Bundesliga match is still rolling. Therefore, the players, coaches and staff must comply with the rules that apply.”

“Cornetin Tolisso broke these rules even though the club had communicated these rules to the team. This is really disappointing and will not be tolerated.

Tolisso himself has apologized via Twitter. “With this, I want to apologize for my mistake. I apologize for breaking the club and DFL rules. I know I have disappointed the fans and FC Bayern Munich. I am very sorry,” he wrote.

Coach Hansi Flick added, “This is unacceptable. He admits his mistake. It has happened and cannot be undone.”

Playing without Tolisso, Bayern were able to win 4-1 over Hoffenheim through goals from Jerome Boateng, Thomas Muller, Robert Lewandowski and Jerome Boateng. This victory solidifies their position at the top of the Bundesliga standings with a seven-point advantage.

Tolisso, 26, has scored two goals in 18 appearances in all competitions this season. However, it is still awaiting whether the French midfielder will return to the squad in the upcoming match against Hertha Berlin next week.

After facing Hertha, Bayern will fly to Qatar for the Club World Cup. The Reds is scheduled to compete against the winner between Al-Ahly and Al-Duhail in the semi-finals on 8 February.
