Brose Bamberg lost the Upper Franconian derby against medi Bayreuth. At the end of the year, the former German series champion was defeated by trainer Raoul Korner’s team 67:73 (39:38).

With four wins and five defeats, the former German team is currently fighting for a place in the playoffs.

For Bayreuth it was the fourth success of the season after losing four games in a row.

In the Lower Saxony duel, the EWE Baskets Oldenburg trembled to a close 82:80 (48:44) against Rasta Vechta, who was bottom of the table.

Almost three minutes before the end, the outsider was still leading 80:79. After that, Vechta didn’t manage to score any more. Nathan Boothe was the most accurate scorer in third place with 23 points.

Giessen triumphs in the Hessen derby

The Jobstairs Gießen 46ers won the Hessen derby against the Fraport Skyliners from Frankfurt with a wafer-thin 75:74 (42:31).

The hosts were ahead with 15 points before the break, but gambled away the entire lead after the break. In the final phase, however, the people of Giessen were nervous.

Newcomers Niners Chemnitz defeated the Syntainics MBC Weißenfels in the East Derby with 96:79 (50:41) and took their second win in a row. The American Joseph Lawson scored 23 points best in the Chemnitz team.
