After almost ten months of differentiated work at home, the badminton players of the national team returned to their training base in the Perla del Sur now with a new setting.
The national badminton team restarted its preparation in Cienfuegos with the intention of being in optimal conditions for the competitive commitments in search of qualification for the Central American Games in 2022.
After almost a decade installed in the Cienfuegos School of Medicine as a training base, now complying with hygienic sanitary measures, they have a new setting for the practice of the sport of rackets and shuttlecocks: the Los 500 complex, of the Service Company from Cienfuegos, where they complete their technical and tactical physical preparation.
The 500 in a secluded place in the city of Cienfuegos and facilitates athletes and coaches to comply with hygienic, sanitary measures and social distancing, this already necessary meeting allows to verify the effectiveness of the work carried out by their pupils from home, towards the new Olympic cycle .
Humberto Daudinot, coach of the national badminton team, states that during these first days they will verify the effectiveness with which the athletes from home implemented everything programmed by them, and then enter the technical and tactical elements, but during these first week it is appreciated that the boys preserved their physical preparation.
Meanwhile, Roberto Mollinedo, also the coach of the national badminton team, said that a lot of time is due to the preparation for the competitive commitments for qualifying for the Central American Games in 2022, of course if the pandemic allows it, but they do not want to stop complying with the preparation program, therefore, complying with the hygienic sanitary measures, they have restarted the preparation.
In the midst of a complex and difficult scenario imposed by the pandemic and resource limitations, the restart of the preparation of the badminton players of the national team in La Perla del Sur with representatives from more than 6 provinces, shows the sense of belonging to the sport and the desire to continue climbing to the highest levels.
