Alex Smith (Washington) and Josh Allen (Buffalo) rewarded

Washington Football Team quarterback Alex Smith was named “Comeback Player of the Year” on Friday after resuming his career this season. Smith, 36, had not played for two years following a serious leg injury that required 17 operations.

After starting the Championship as a No. 3 quarterback, Smith started out during the season. He played eight games and passed for 1,582 yards and six touchdowns. His performances helped Washington to qualify for the play-offs (elimination in the first round of the NFC Conference against Tampa Bay, 23-31).

Josh Allen, the Buffalo Bills quarterback, was voted “Most Improved Player of the Year”, a trophy that rewards the player who has improved the most. This season, he managed 69.2% of his passes for 4,544 yards and 37 touchdowns (in 2019, Allen had managed 58.8% of his passes for 3,089 yards and 20 TD’s). Buffalo will play Kansas City in the US Conference Final on Sunday night through Monday.
