American flight attendants are afraid to go on duty these days, especially on the routes that lead from Washington DC to the rest of the United States. The number of frustrated passengers is so high that at least United, Frontier, Southwest and American Airlines have stopped serving alcohol on these routes. Passengers who identify themselves as supporters of the incumbent president are openly hostile on board, the red baseball cap with the embroidery “Make America great again” has been seen as a provocation since the storming of the Capitol. Gate agents and on-board staff try to influence the frustrated supporters so as not to let dangerous situations arise on board. What was once a great country, which, by the way, despite all its flaws and inadequacies, I loved and admired dearly, has been degraded to a banana state by a single man. This is not my Judgment, but the judgment of previous American presidents, such as Barack Obama or George W. Bush.

Why do you think every reader of this headline immediately understood that I was talking about the USA? After losing re-election, the incumbent president of this country invites 30,000 of his hard core supporters from all over the USA to a “Save America March” in Washington. He gives a speech in front of the White House, in which he tells them to march with him on Pennsylvania Avenue to the Capitol. Because Congress and Senate met there in a joint session to announce the result of the presidential election in a solemn ceremony. As the culmination of years of brainwashing, this president incites his blinded admirers to “fight for America” to show it to “the corrupt politicians and vote thieves” and to turn the election in his favor. People cheer for him and march to the Capitol, the heart of American democracy. One of them abseils down in time and watches the chaos on the television in the White House: The President himself.

Only after hours, while everyone stared at the pictures in disbelief, and after his party friends finally asked him to do so, he called on his followers in a video message to go home. He concluded with the words “You are something special!” Twitter and Facebook deleted his video and blocked his account for the time being. It was only the next day that he had to read out a text – apparently under pressure from the Republican Party – that did not at all fit in with his hateful messages for years: ‘American democracy has been sullied and the participating chaos will be held accountable’.

I hope you don’t forget the head of the snake, I can only say. But anyone who thinks that the liar-in-chief has come to his senses in the last days of his imploding presidency is wrong. Because, while five deaths were lamented and the injured were counted, while the FBI was looking for the origin of two unexploded pipe bombs in the Capitol, while 3,500 people died of Corona every day in American hospitals, he drew three golf friends with the American one Freedom medal. Nancy Pelosi has meanwhile called on the Pentagon to block the insane president from having access to nuclear weapons, while all sides are trying to remove him from office with immediate effect.
