After two consecutive defeats, Anderlecht have once again been able to win. It was home to Charleroi 3-0, the biggest win of the season for the Purple & White. Nmecha and Vlap scored from the spot before half-time, Amuzu put the final score on the board ten minutes before time. Charleroi lags behind with 0 out of 12. “We haven’t gotten the results we deserve, but we all know we are on the right track,” says Vincent Kompany.
Anderlecht – Charleroi in a nutshell:
- Key moment: Despite the preponderance, Anderlecht kept a tight 1-0 lead until shortly before half-time. Then the ball hits the spot for the second time and unlike last month against Genk, Nmecha gives the penalty to Vlap. He counts out a young Charleroi with his 1st competition goal.
- Man of the match: At Anderlecht, a lot of players reached a high level tonight, but Francis Amuzu just stood out. With his speed and dribbling he constantly created danger and in the closing stages he crowned his match with his first goal of the season.

Nmecha and Vlap give Anderlecht a deserved lead
Anderlecht had to put things right after the 0 out of 6 outdoors. Things are going a lot smoother at home this season and the Purple & White immediately took command against Charleroi. After less than 5 minutes, Vlap decided to report
from Amuzu just wide.
Nmecha claimed a penalty early on after a collision with Penneteau, but was not awarded. It didn’t bother a dominant Anderlecht. Charleroi was not involved and escaped 1-0 just past fifteen minutes. Amuzu
got the ball again at Vlap, but the Dutchman could not finish now.
Halfway through the first half, Diagne was only able to stop a handsome dribble by Mukairu incorrectly and now the ball did hit the spot. A job for Nmecha and that gave Anderlecht a deserved lead.
Charleroi did not respond, Anderlecht kept coming. El Hadj forced Penneteau to a good save, a low slide from Nmecha then went just wide. Shortly before half-time, Anderlecht got another penalty after hands from Dessoleil on a shot from Vlap. Nmecha allowed him to take the penalty himself and made it 2-0.
Amuzu puts the icing on the cake with the 1st competition goal
Charleroi was also unable to make a fist in the second half. The visitors also needed a lot of mistakes to stop Anderlecht. Shortly before half-time, Ilaimaharitra had already escaped red for an attack on Cullen and after the
break, Dessoleil and Kayembe also flirted with a second yellow.
Amuzu remained a scourge for the Charleroi defense, but forgot to make it 3-0 after a sharp counter. Charleroi thus retained a glimmer of hope. Only fifteen minutes before the end did the visitors force their first chance, substitute Rezaei decided just wide.
Charleroi did not get any closer to a tying goal and 10 minutes before the end, Amuzu was able to remove all doubts. On a pass from Dimata, he worked his first competition goal under Penneteau in goal.

Against an experienced, hard-to-disrupt squad, which is usually strong defensively, the guys have shown they could create new opportunities. To be honest, I expected that less today. I saw the actions and patterns from training, which was not easy for us before. I see a lot of goals in training, so hopefully that’s the next step. I really liked Nmecha that he awarded me the penalty. That says a lot about him and is also liberating for me. I had to wait a long time for that first goal.
