“Which referee is the worst official in Liverpool’s game this season? Here comes the short list, namely Andre Marriner, Kevin Friend, Martin Atkinson and David Coote, “wrote the account @ LFC_Ireland78.

“Anyone remember the trip of the above names to Indonesia without their wives last summer? Coincidence ?, ”continued the account.

Martin Atkinson became the first referee to give Liverpool a bad result. Come to Aston Villa’s headquarters in the fourth week of the 2020-2021 Premier League, the Reds unexpectedly lost 2-7! In this fight, no controversial decisions were made by Martin Atkinson.

Then in the fifth week, it was David Coote’s turn to monitor Liverpool’s match when they visited Everton’s headquarters. It’s just that David Coote only acts as a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) monitor, but has a hand in the decisions made by the court at that time, Michael Oliver.

It’s just that, David Coote is considered to have made a mistake. First, David Coote failed to identify a foul by Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford against Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk. At that time, Coote only gave a report to the referee who led the match, Michael Oliver, that Van Dijk was caught offside before the incident occurred.

In fact, regardless of whether Van Dijk is offside or not, many observers say Pickford deserves to be rewarded a red card for the offense committed against the Dutch defender. At that time, Pickford was caught shooting Van Dijk’s knee. As a result, Van Dijk’s knee ligament was damaged and had to be out for a long period.

Then, another controversial moment made by Coote was thwarting Liverpool’s victory. In 90 + 2 minutes, Liverpool actually scored a 3-2 winning goal via Jordan Henderson’s shot after receiving Sadio Mane’s cross.

However, in Coote’s observation, Mane was said to have been caught offside before releasing a pass to Henderson. In fact, in the VAR program, Mane was far from offside.

Because of this, Liverpool filed a protest against Coote’s actions to the Premier League Referee Authority, namely PGMOL. Because of the protest launched by Liverpool, Coote was released from his job the following week.

Then in the 15th week of the 2020-2021 Premier League, Kevin Friend led the Liverpool vs WBA match, which in fact the team residents of the relegation zone. However, unexpectedly Liverpool only got a 1-1 result!

The latest or early this morning, Andre Marriner led the Southampton vs Liverpool match. In this match, there were at least two moments where Liverpool could have gotten a penalty.

In the 60th minute, Liverpool winger Sadio Mane was brought down by Southampton’s right fullback Kyle Walker-Peters in the forbidden box. However, referee Andre Marriner did not consider it a foul.

Because of that, the court did not see the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) program at all. Earlier in the second half, Georginio Wijnaldum’s shot in the penalty box was clearly visible and touched the hand of Southampton defender, Jack Stephens.

The VAR program did appear on television. However, the referee did not award Liverpool a penalty kick. As a result of this defeat Liverpool could potentially be displaced from the top of the 2020-2021 Premier League standings. After going through 17 matches, Liverpool are at the top of the 2020-2021 Premier League standings with a collection of 33 points, exactly the same as Man United in second place.

If Man United draws or even wins over Burnley in their 17th match on Wednesday, January 13 2020 early morning WIB, The Red Devils – the nickname of Man United – will rise to the top of the 2020-2021 Premier League standings.
