3 – home bankruptcy for Osnabrück

Fortuna Düsseldorf saved a point in the top game of the second Bundesliga against SpVgg Greuther Fürth and thus also defended the promotion relegation place against the Franks. Thanks to Kevin Danso (83rd), the Rhinelander, who were still undefeated at home, secured 3: 3 (1: 2) in a wild game against the clover on matchday 17. VfL Osnabrück were defeated by Erzgebirge Aue 0: 1 (0: 1) and thus lost for the fifth time in a row at the Bremer Brücke.

Andre Hoffmann (26th / own goal), Julian Green (30th) and Sebastian Ernst (53rd) met for Fürth. Kenan Karaman (35th) and Kristoffer Peterson (49th) made up for the 2-0 deficit in the meantime, in the final phase Danso was then on the spot after a corner – in which Fortuna goalkeeper Florian Kastenmeier also caused confusion in the opposing penalty area.

After a cautious start, an interesting game developed after Hoffmann’s own goal, in which Fürth immediately followed up. After a direct game Karaman brought Fortuna back on, after the equalization by substitute Peterson, Uwe Rösler’s team seemed to be on the trigger – at least until Ernst brought the guests forward again after a great combination.

Defeat for Osnabrück

FC Erzgebirge Aue can orientate themselves back up in the table after the 1-0 (1-0) at VfL Osnabrück. After two defeats by John-Patrick Strauss (13th minute), the Saxons climbed to seventh place with 25 points. At Osnabrück, however, the negative run continues. Coach Marco Grote’s team suffered their fifth defeat from the last six games on Friday and are eleventh with 22 points.

In the first half of the season, Aue was the dominant team from the start. The team of coach Dirk Schuster looked more snappy and was rewarded after 13 minutes. A cross from Dimitrij Nazarov headed Strauss from a very short distance into the Osnabrück goal for a 1-0 lead.

The Schuster-Elf was more determined in the course of the game, but missed an earlier decision. They were also unlucky with a free kick from Jan Hochscheidt, whose shot landed on the post (56th). VfL coach Grote tried to bring new momentum with new staff. Joker Luc Ihorst (89.) did not have more than a header chance. The striker also saw the red card in stoppage time (90th + 1).
