Yohan Penel takes the head of the French badminton Federation

Yohan Penel was elected president of the French Badminton Federation at the elective general assembly last week. He succeeds Florent Chayet.

The general assembly of the French Badminton Federation (FFBad) took place last weekend in videoconference. Upon completion, Yohan Penel was elected president for the current Olympiad, until 2024, by club representatives. The list compiled by the former deputy secretary general of the Ile-de-France League, administrator of the Val d’Oise departmental committee and current president of the Villejuif club, obtained 55.15% of the votes in the second round. “It is an honor that the representatives of the territories have done us today by entrusting us with this mandate at the head of the FFBaD”, said Yohan Penel. “We are going to get down to work quickly to support associations in the face of the crisis and to develop each of our 81 proposals. They will place people at the heart of our operations and will allow our federation to look resolutely towards the future. During these four years, we will follow the line of conduct that has been ours for a year and a half: transparency and co-construction. We are arriving in times of crisis, but we know that we can rely on a dynamic community full of ideas to advance our sport and participate in an innovative and unifying social project. “

Yohan Penel succeeds Florent Chayet, who did not represent himself after a mandate at the head of the FFBad. “This election was very positive for the federation because it allowed a real debate of ideas”, expressed the former president. “She proved that the badminton family is fully engaged and has energy to spare. This state of mind, which is both collective and dynamic, is an asset on which the new team will have to rely to manage the health crisis and build itself in the “next world”. “
