Winner Anacona (Arkéa-Samsic) has ended up in hospital. During a training ride with his mountain bike in his home country of Colombia, he fell hard, sustaining injuries to his face, knee and ribs.
Winner Anacona was the foreman of Nairo Quintana at Arkéa-Samsic last season. To prepare for the new season, the 32-year-old Colombian took out his mountain bike, but that went wrong.
How it happened is not yet clear, but what we do know is that Anacona already had surgery on his face, more specifically an aesthetic operation on the outside of his eye, his knee was stitched, has a bruised kidney and was taken care of on the injuries to his ribs.
